Online Evaluations for Employment, DOT, Attorneys, Family, and Personal Needs

DrugEval serves clients throughout the United States for many non-court substance use evaluation needs, subject to the requirements of the organization requesting the evaluation.

Online drug and alcohol evaluations may be used for personal understanding, attorney recommendations, employment requirements, family-related matters, educational needs, and other administrative purposes. DOT drug or alcohol violations require a separate evaluation process completed by a DOT-qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).

If you are unsure which service applies to your situation, review how the DrugEval process works or use our evaluation matching tool before scheduling.

Online Substance Use Evaluations for Court and Probation

Court-ordered and probation substance use evaluations are accepted in many states, but local requirements and DUI-specific rules can affect whether a telehealth evaluation may be used.

DrugEval provides online substance use evaluations for court and probation. Before purchasing an evaluation, review your court order, probation instructions, attorney guidance, or other paperwork for requirements involving provider credentials, location, state approval, or in-person attendance.

State-specific court and probation restrictions

  • Washington: Online evaluations may be used for certain non-DUI matters. DUI cases generally require a Washington evaluator unless prior authorization is obtained.
  • Oklahoma: Online evaluations may be used for certain non-DUI matters. DUI cases require authorization before using DrugEval.
  • Georgia: Evaluations may be used for court cases. For probation matters, DrugEval currently serves non-DUI cases. A DUI that was reduced to reckless driving may qualify.
  • Nebraska: DrugEval evaluations are not currently accepted for these requirements.

Acceptance is determined by the court, probation department, or requesting agency. Always confirm whether a telehealth substance use evaluation is acceptable for your specific case before scheduling. Online Substance Use Evaluations for DMV and Driver’s License Reinstatement

Some state motor vehicle agencies accept online evaluations for driver’s license reinstatement, while others require an approved in-state provider, specific forms, or in-person services.

A substance use evaluation may be required after a DUI, DWI, OWI, alcohol-related driving offense, ignition interlock violation, or other license-related matter. DMV and licensing rules differ significantly from one state to another.

In some cases, a person whose license was suspended in one state but who now lives in another state may be permitted to complete the evaluation where they currently reside. The licensing authority ultimately determines whether the evaluation will satisfy its reinstatement requirements.

Currently serviced for qualifying DMV or license reinstatement evaluations: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa for qualifying clients with Georgia residency, Illinois for qualifying clients with Georgia residency, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

DMV and licensing requirements can change. Confirm telehealth acceptance with the appropriate state licensing agency before purchasing an evaluation.

Not currently serviced for DMV reinstatement: Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Washington.

Before Scheduling an Online Drug and Alcohol Evaluation

An online substance use evaluation is not automatically accepted simply because telehealth is permitted in a state. Courts, probation departments, employers, licensing authorities, and other agencies may establish their own provider and documentation requirements.

Before purchasing, check any paperwork you received and determine exactly who requires the evaluation, why it is required, and whether that organization has specified a particular credential, state approval, treatment provider, form, or evaluation format.

Court or Probation

Review the court order or probation instructions and confirm whether a remote substance use evaluation is permitted.

DMV or License Reinstatement

Confirm the licensing state’s specific evaluation, provider, residency, and documentation requirements before scheduling.

DOT Drug or Alcohol Violation

DOT return-to-duty cases require a DOT-qualified Substance Abuse Professional and follow a separate federal SAP process.
